Fingerprint match up

We were talking about skin today which led us to look at our finger prints.  This activity had the kids get very familiar with their fingerprints.

To make a fingerprint match up game you need twenty squares of paper and a stamp pad.

Stamp each finger on two of the pieces of paper.  Label one of the pieces so that you know what fingerprint it is.  For example, we put RT for right thumb, RP for right pointer, RM for right middle and so on.  For the left hand we use LT, LP, LM....  When you are all done you should have twenty prints with ten of them labeled.

Mix up all the prints, lay them out on the table and match them back up.

Spark compared the swirls, patterns  and lines to match them back up.
