Winter celery crop

These are two celery stalks were are growing. The one on the left was a cut off part of a stalk of celery hung in a glass of water with tooth picks. It has really grown well and is getting a good root system. The orignal stalk is getting icky moldy. The one on the right is the inside of a stalk. This one sits in a glass of water. It isn't hasn't shown as much growth and has no roots. When they get bigger, or if they slow down in growth, we are going to put the leafy parts in a pot of soup.
