Egyptian Boat

Spark and I attempted to make an Egyptian reed boat.  Instead of reeds, which I suppose we could have gotten some cat tails,  we cut some long grass from the swamp.  Using string, we tightly tied each end of the grass and then cut it off so the ends were neat and even.  Using his thumbs, Spark made a hollow in the middle of the grass like a canoe.  It worked!  He put this in the sink about 5:00 p.m. and when we got home from Awana at 8:30 it was still floating.  Spark put a tiny little creature in there and he was wet but not sunk.  I don't know how safe he would have been had there been crocodiles in our sink.

So Fun!

We are studying ancient history this year also.

I can't wait to get to American History! There is so much.

Wish we made grass boats in college. That'd be a lot easier than term papers, and more fun because I could accidentally get my professor wet and have a legit excuse. ;)
