If we go out on the deck with a treat for the chickens and yell "CHICKENS," they come running from where ever they are. A chicken running is a very funny sight indeed. Sometimes I find a treat for them just to see them run.
Here's a funny story for you. Recently we went to a local college to watch a falconry demonstration by a friend of ours. They keep chickens as part of the environmental science program. My oldest wanted me to see how friendly they were, because they all run up to the cage when a person comes near. I went and stood on one side of the cage. No chickens came up to me. Then Marina stepped up to the cage on the other side. Every single chicken came out of hiding to walk up to her.
I think she has a way with animals. :o)
