Dancer Is A Tax Paying Citizen

We had our taxes prepared today and brought with the kids little bit of income documentation just to make sure they didn't go over the amount they can make.  Spark was fine but Dancer made $20 too much last year and has to pay $3 dollars in taxes.  She didn't seem too fazed, but I don't think she realizes how many more dollars will follow those three in her life time.

Pathetic that we have to subject our children to this so early in life. Maybe they can really change things. I sure hope so!

I hear you. When my girls dad died last year, they were given his vehicle which is now titled in their names only (they are 13, 13 and 15). So, they get to pay personal property tax now......as well as insurance and they aren't even old enough to drive! The 15 year old does, though, thru her learners permit, but won't get her license until she is 18. But, its a good lesson on budgeting while they are still under our guidance.

I think Marina has had to pay taxes since she started working at 15. It's usually only one to three dollars, but considering how little she's making, it seems like a ridiculous amount to me. Our poor children!
