To teach Dancer how to crochet, I showed her how to make a simple dish rag. This is one is crocheted with vibrant red, white and blue cotton yarn. It is a simple chain 29 stitches. Double crochet in the third stitch from the hook and then double crochet every stitch after. End of row chain two, turn and double crochet in every stitch until it is square. It took Dancer about 10 minutes to learn the chain and double crochet stitch and she was off on her own.

I've had a question I've been dying to ask the past few days as I read about your goats birthing.
Do you guys sell goats or are they dairy goats? I guess I'm wondering what you do with them. :)

the goats - yes they are dairy goats and yes we sell them. They are also pets because they are just so darn cute,have great personalities and are a wonderful educational tool. For our family, one goat has plenty of milk unless we are heavy into making cheese or someone else wants some. I have a freind who sometimes gets it for her family and my dad also takes a few jars home with him when he comes to visit. We are not huge milk drinkers though. When I buy milk in the winter we use about 2 gallons a week and that is with cooking. A doe can be nursing and still make enough for our family. We have to be a little more careful with how much goat milk we drink because it is whole with all the cream in it and the calories add up fast!
